Aquaventure Atlantis Dubai
Dubai Aquaventure is one of the latest attractions from this exciting commercial hub and is in keeping with the city’s reputation of being larger than life in every respect. Located on the Palm Jumeirah Island as part of the Hotel Atlantis, the Aquaventure water park has been operating since 2009 and offers innumerable water attractions to keep any family busy for hours on end.
Legend has it that while building the Palm Jumeirah Island, excavators came across ruins which were different from the typical Arabic artefacts. The researchers concluded these might have been from the lost continent, Atlantis. It is in acknowledgement of this fact that the hotel is named as the Atlantis and a part of Aquaventure is named the Lost Chamber and dedicated to celebrating the culture, traditions and way of life of the people of Atlantis. The Lost Chamber has been built under water in the form of a maze and as you weave through the ancient streets and houses surrounded by fishes on all sides it is an amazing one-a-kind experience which does not have any parallel in the world.
While at Aquaventure, be sure to visit Dolphin Bay which is based around a marine ecosystem within the mystical Atlantis Lost Chamber consisting not only of dolphins but also with diverse forms of aquatic life. If you love swimming and snorkelling, then you'll enjoy the Lost Chambers aswell as the numerous other water related activities and ofcourse chilling at the beach! For the more adventurous, head to the ‘Leap of Faith’ which entails plunging into a shark-infested lagoon from the Ziggurat while others can wash off the heat of the desert sand dunes by undertaking a 1.5 mile long exciting river ride featuring pools, rapids, swells and 7-feet high waves.
Aquaventure offers plenty of activities for even the youngest of children with an amazingly fun water playground named ‘Splashers’ and supervised marine adventures which are both fun as well as educational. You will definitely score brownie points with your little ones after a day out here.
