What is there to do in Dibba
Things to do
- Many people come to Dibba to visit the Al Bidyah Mosque which is one of the oldest in Arabia. It has 4 small domes – with architecture unknown for the region. Definitely something to check out.
- A trip under the surface of water to view the diverse marine life is a must in Dibba and the onus is on the visitor to make the most of the numerous diving sites as well as those close to Fujairah and Musandam. It is not just the aquatic habitat which is mesmerizing but an opportunity to explore the wreckage on one of the wreck dives is indeed a memorable experience.
- On undertaking a dhow cruise on one of the traditional Arabian dhows, one can get up close to the fjords and appreciate their barren surface which tends to make them appear unearth-like.
- The highlight of the town is Dibba castle and the Portuguese fort, both of which are cherished historical landmarks in the area.
- Enthusiasts can opt for the Khasab Wheel Drive tours and embark on a mountain safari which is a journey through the barren mountains.
- Other local attractions in the area include hanging around the beaches, swimming and snorkelling, greeting the fishermen or alternatively admiring the rugged beauty of the Hajjar Mountains.
Being out of the way, this spot does not feature among the usual tourist itineraries but if you can get a trip there, and you like diving and empty beaches then Dibba is for you.
