Sunset Cruise Abu Dhabi

Cruises on the Arabian Gulf

If you want to view the sunset by sea, you are certainly catered for. There are two well known boats, the Shuja Yacht and the Al Dhafra Dhow. We prefer the former. Although you can eat food as you go to sea, we don’t think it is necessarily worth it – especially if you don’t have much time but the sunset cruise is. The Al Dhafra Arabic grill is not bad and the Shuja yacht has a mixed menu, but limited choice – but the desserts are especially nice.

The cruise goes up and down the coast, at quite a pace and it’s nice to see the Emirates Palace from a different angle. For those with photography skills, this is your chance to get some great shots if you understand the lighting! The whole experience is quite relaxing and watching the sun set at sea is refreshingly therapeutic.

Point of Note:

  • Sunset is between 1730 and 1830.
  • Make sure you take a shawl or sweatshirt with you because it can get quite nippy at sea.
  • You can take a day time / lunch cruise, but during the warmer months it is way too hot to be on deck
  • Make sure you book in advance
  • Try and get there early enough as it is difficult to find. The yacht is located past the Havana Café near the parking area for the Marina
  • If you go for the dinner, bear in mind that it will be dark and you won’t see so much
