A model of Saadiyat Island at Manarat Al Saadiyat
Manarat Al Sadiyat – The Saadiyat Story, based in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi is an Emirate in transition, and Manarat Al Sadiyat is the visitor centre to bring the vision alive. This exhibition is really worth seeing if you want to know about how the Louvre and the Guggenheim will become part of the landscape in Abu Dhabi. As Saadiyat Island is integral to the future landscape, much time and effort have been invested in creating this tour of the future. There are guides who talk you through in detail what has happened in the past, and how things will be in the future. And you can ask any question you desire. And the fact that there are other exhibitions from Arts Abu Dhabi in the same buildings, bringing in world class art from all over the globe, makes this a real bonus.
Points of Note:
- This really is worth seeing if you are interested in investing in Abu Dhabi
- The building holds other exhibitions, including a showcase for the Louvre and Guggenheim before it is built. This is part of an ongoing cultural programme dedicated to developing awareness and understanding of art and culture prior to the launch of the Cultural District.
- If going by taxi, ask if they will wait to take you back or how easy would it be for him to return.
- There is a great restaurant on site called Al Fanr
- There is a less detailed exhibition held at the Emirates Palace, but we think it’s worth coming out to Manarat
