The gargantuan and ambitious engineering project undertaken by the Dubai Government in UAE is a world’s first. The Palm Jumeirah is the largest artificial island in the world and its creation has already resulted in extending Dubai’s coastline by more than 500 kilometres thus attracting some of the wealthiest investors, not to mention the leading chains of hotels and restaurants in the world. The Palm Jumeirah has evolved into one of the most fashionable, trendy and luxurious locations in the world with the uniqueness of being nestled amidst a cradle of diverse marine life with an abundance of year round sunshine.
Many people will have heard of the Palm already and it has quickly become symbolic of the ambitions of Dubai with many famous celebrities having a holiday home on the Palm. However, the view that you have of the Palm is from the sky and on the ground, the view is a little different. Firstly, the backbone of the Palm Jumeirah lies in the middle or what is known as the ‘trunk’ which is basically an 8 lane motorway, taking visitors and residents to the different ‘fronds’ or tip of the Palm.
We think one of the best ways to see the Palm is to see it from the outside. Book a tour with the Yellow Boats which will take you from Dubai Marina all around the Atlantis, past the Burj Al Arab and back. You’ll get some amazing photos and be fully exhilarated by the rush of the boats
The Yellow Boats is a unique sightseeing experience. No one else offers any way to see the coast in this way. The Yellow Boats brings a fresh perspective to your Dubai trip with some of the most interesting and exciting on-water experiences. The Yellow Boats are rigid inflatable top of the line crafts and perfectly safe and great fun for families.
Points of note –
Yellow tours needs to be booked in advance and leaves from Dubai Marina Walk (opposite Spinneys)
As an added attraction at Palm Jumeirah for divers, two F-100 Super Sabre fighter jets were sunk after being completely stripped in a bid to create an artificial reef.
The more traditional way to experience the Palm is to visit the Atlantis the Palm either by taking a taxi there or by taking the monorail there. Time yourself though, as trying to get a taxi back at the wrong time will mean a long queue. They do come, but you’re in competition with many others. Another way is to visit Aquaventure which is part of the Atlantis.
Yellow boats do a thrill seeking ride for those who love to get their adrenaline pumping.
Although it is very safe, if you get sea sick, it is best to avoid this!
