Seawings Plane Tour of Dubai
The Seawings tour of Dubai is electric. One minute you are checking out the creek and the next you are circling the Burj Khalifa. The tour offers picture perfect moments and one of our most recommended trips if you can afford it. It’s a unique sightseeing excursion offering a bird’s eye view and likely to be the highlight of your trip.
The flights take place daily from 8 am to dusk in an amphibious Cessna caravan seaplane. The 40 minute tour of Dubai will fly by (excuse the pun) and gives you the most breath-taking view of Dubai that will supersede any of magazine paraphernalia that brought you to Dubai in the first place.
The excitement begins as you leave the Dubai Creek – as you depart and leave from water. You’ll see the creek to start off with including the dhows and scenery, but Seawings comes into its own when you view the newer parts of Dubai. You get to see all the main sights and then some including the Burj Al Arab, the Burj Khalifa and the Palm and World islands. It’s spectacular experiencing it from above
The plane is remarkably comfortable and has been designed so that every seat is a window seat. There are multiple packages on offer, but the most popular is the Silver package for AED 1375 per person, but there are more on offer including flying to other destinations and going to the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi for lunch.
If you are going to splash some cash, save some for Seawings. It may be the most expensive thing you do on your trip, but nothing quite matches it.
Points of note
Although this is a sea plane, it does land on the ground as well, so there’s no need to worry about emergencies.
Make sure you take a spare battery for your camera (you will take loads of pictures, guaranteed)
Summer months can be hazy and thus not great for photos
We don’t think it’s worth paying extra for the commentary and maps, but you’re welcome to spend extra!
Don’t wear flip flops or high heels – as you will find it difficult to board
You need to check in at least 30 minutes before and bring your passport. You’ll be provided with water on the plane – don’t bring your own.
