Laban - (or labaan) A cultured milk / yoghurt popularly drunk as a power drink for breakfast
Labneh - Cream cheese made from laban. A popular topping for Manakish.
Lamcy Plaza - Lamcy is the cheap and cheerful mall located in Oud Metha. From a comparison point of view it bears no resemblance to the huge newer malls being opened across Dubai and the UAE.
Lebanese Food - Lebanese food is the most popular food to be found in the UAE, from shawarma and shish tawook to manaeesh and baba ghanoush, Lebanese food can be thought to be the staple diet of many expats in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Yum!
Lime Tree Café - The stalwart of the Jumeirah Jane contingent, this café, which is actually very good, needs to be visited at least once, and perhaps may become your local meet up point.
Liwa - Liwa, which is located in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, is essentially predominantly desert and many people know it as off roading area where you can do your desert safari in your 4X4, or get someone to do it for you.
Lulu Island - Lulu island is an island off the coast of Abu Dhabi which was man-made and was talked about for many years to be where Disney would set up a Middle Eastern theme park. Although the island has much potential, thee is very little going on there at the moment.
Lulu Supermarket - Lulu Hypermarket as it should strictly be called is one of those mid sized supermarkets located on numerous streets in the UAE and beyond, selling anything and everything, sometimes at prices that are just too ridiculous to believe. However, some of the goods are so low end, that many would not even walk in.
