Jebel Ali - Jebel Ali is the area that was once considered the outskirts of Dubai, but is now becoming of equal importance to it. It used to be one of the more affordable areas of Dubai to live if you were commuting into Dubai Media City or Internet City. As it is located towards the Abu Dhabi end of Dubai and was previously known for the port and the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZ). It will soon also be known for housing the world’s largest international airport in the form of Al Maktoum International Airport or Dubai World Central as it was once called.

Jebel Hafeet - This is the second tallest mountain in the United Arab Emirates at1350 m. The mountain is surrounded by flat plains bringing beautiful views. Drive carefully to the top of the mountain as some drivers tend to get a bit crazy. When at the top, relax at the café and enjoy the 360 degree view. If you want to extend your trip you can stay at the hotel Mecure Hafeet. There is a park and a resort called Ain Al Fahda at the bottom of the mountain area.

Jumeirah - Jumeirah used to be the end of the Dubai, until it got extended northward towards Abu Dhabi. It is also one of the traditional upmarket areas to live as it sits on the coast. Jumeirah extends all the way up Jumeirah Beach road past Jumeirah Beach Park all the way to Wild Wadi, Juemirah Beach Hotel, Madinat Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab. The further you get from Central Dubai, the number allocation goes up, so you have Jumeirah 1, Jumeirah 2, and Jumeirah 3 followed by Umm Suqeim 1, 2, 3 etc. Jumeirah is also the name of the property/hotel chain that own Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Emirates Towers, Madinat Jumeirah. They are also developing a number of hotels outside of Dubai, as close as Abu Dhabi and Doha and as far away as Bermuda, Spain and Thailand.

Jumeirah Jane - Who is Jumeirah Jane? She is the blonde wife of an expat senior manager who because of the salary he earns doesn’t need to work. She spends her life taking her kids to class and meeting with other Jumeirah Janes for coffees and spa treatments. Lives in a villa in jumeirah, obviously but the species is transforming with a move to elsewhere in Dubai.
