The Mina Bazaar area on Al Fahidi Street has an array of colourful Indian silks and other fabric as well as ready made “shalwaar kameez” or female Indian suits and sarees. You will also find tailors here to copy or make your favourite dress from scratch in as little as a day. The Dubai Museum in the Al Fahidi Fort is a must for a general historic overview of Dubai as well as several other historical places such as the Bastakiya, Heritage Village and Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum’s House. Also, Bur Dubai is the home of the abra and you can take one over the creek to Deira.
