There are several places to check out in Dubai for Gold. The gold souk in Dubai is based in Deira and is a must see for any tourist visiting Dubai with over 400 shops. If you are not planning to buy gold, just go for the atmosphere as you will never experience this at Hatton Garden in London! Any taxi will take you there, just request to be taken to the gold souk in Deira. The Gold and Diamond Park can be found on Sheikh Zayed Road, between interchange 3 and 4. Not as busy as the Deira Gold Souk, which can be good and bad, however they stock a larger variety of gemstones and of course diamonds. So, if diamonds are your thing, go to the gold and diamond park. Predominantly a gold purchase? Then go to the gold souk. Eithere way, you should visit Dubai's Gold Souk as one of the top things to do in Dubai - and souk it all up! If you are only visiting Dubai for a day and time is of a constraint, the Dubai Mall, the world’s largest mall, has its own indoor gold souk with familiar brands such as GB, Marhaba and Damas. Sure you wont get the same noisy souk vibe, but if you need to gold shop – you can do it in a peaceful air-conditioned environment. It's also quiet, so you won't have to wait long to see anyone.

Gold Shops in Dubai

In terms of specific gold shops, there are so many stores available, but we have checked out a few that stand out and would be a good place to start with. Damas is the big player offering the most up to date designs, their collection is mainly Middle Eastern, but they stock a large variety of Italian, European and Indian pieces. Damas is reputed as being one of the expensive stores, so heavy haggling may not work here! Marhaba have a variety of branches throughout Dubai selling a lot of western style jewellery although they no longer exist in Abu Dhabi. However this is a great store and can partake in some good bargaining. JoyAlukkas is a big seller of Indian designs and has a number of stores in the UAE. Other stores worth checking out are Barakat and Yasin jewellery. Remember, everyone has a different taste – be sure to check out a number of stores and then buy from where you feel comfortable.
