With all the planning that Dubai did – it seemed to have missed out linking the metro with the Monorail. This is a little bit of a pain as you’ll need to get to the Gateway station (taxi drivers know it as the Palm Monorail) to get to the end of the Palm and the Atlantis hotel. This is the only other station – and so if you are going elsewhere on the Palm, you’d have to question whether it was worth it especially at a cost of AED 15 one way per person (AED 25 return). The trains are every 23 minutes, and offer stunning views both of the Palm (if you can manage getting the front seat!) but also of the Dubai sky line. But if there’s more than one of you, you may just decide to take a taxi to save time. The monorail runs from 10 am to 10 pm – and the closest Metro station to the Monorail is Nakheel which is a AED 10 ride away. There are plans to connect the monorail to the Dubai Tram system but that’s not yet complete. The taxis leaving the Gateway on your return are usually expensive, so it might be worthwhile taking a taxi from the Atlantis when leaving.
