The most convenient way to cross the Creek is by abra, the 1 Dirham, 3 minute, boat ride across. You should make a point of doing this short journey while in Dubai. It’s one of our tourist must dos. Not only do you get from one side of the creek to the other, but you also get to see a beautiful view of the city. If it’s warm, go after sunset, when all the buildings are lit up and Dubai by night is bustling. The Abra has several pick up points along the Bur Dubai and Deira side and each Abra is capable of housing about 20 passengers.
Other creek options include taking the Dubai Water Bus. For AED 4 you do a similar, but upmarket trip across. And for AED 50 you can do the creek tourist sites for an hour. You could also take the waterbus or if you’re looking to see more than the creek, get a ticket on the Dubai Ferry. You can either see the Marina up to Burj AL Arab or the area close to the World islands. These are more tourist routes than transport necessities, but worth spending the money if interested. If you can stomach your food while on the river, the dhow cruise buffets are a nice evening sunset alternative.
