The chilled pace of UAQ

...

Umm al Quwain

Umm al Quwain is the second smallest of the seven Emirates and probably one of the most chilled out of them all. We’re not saying that this place is hippyland, but it’s quite easy to soak in the atmosphere and greenery and not really feel too rushed to do anything at all.

Despite UAQ having some energy deposits, the economy hasn’t really kick-started here and it’s probably safe to say that this is one of the poorer Emirates. That said, they are always looking for ways to attract investment. The sleepy village type feel is synonymous throughout the whole of the Emirate, but essentially the most interesting part is around the lagoon where you will find the dhow yard and the food markets.
