The Development of Yas Island

Since its inaugural race in 2009, the Formula 1 Grand Prix has clearly put Abu Dhabi on the world map and won the rights to host the yearly race until 2016.   The championships are held at the Yas Marina circuit on Yas Island, an area built on natural land, dedicated for the Formula 1 event.  Surrounding the Grand prix circuit is the funky and futuristic Yas Hotel which has incredible views of the race track and some of Abu Dhabi’s superb restaurants and bars.  If the Yas Hotel is not in your price bracket there are a further six hotels dotted around the island, but book early if you plan to visit for race time.  A short distance away is the world’s largest indoor theme park - Ferrari World and the world’s largest rollercoaster awaits. The ideal place to spend a full day whether you have children or not – it’s great for all ages and air conditioned! Yas Island itself is an amazing development, impressive by day and even more so by night.  With the yachts bobbing in the water and sparkly Yas Hotel in the background, you truly feel like you’re in Monaco.  Its all about chic and glamour here.
