For a totally serene experience, Al Gurm Resort provides the ultimate in living tranquillity.  This development on the Mussafah Road out of Abu Dhabi comprises of 72 waterfront villas, all low rise buildings so as not to disturb the flora and fauna in their natural habitat.  Many varieties of birds and fish and lush green mangroves would be your typical morning view from the huge open plan villas, a breathtaking difference from the continued car honking in downtown Abu Dhabi which is only a 15 minute drive away.  There are plans to also build a five star luxury resort in the area; however these have been momentarily put on hold.  All villas are currently available for UAE nationals to buy however they are being offered to expatriates for rental.
