This is quality food at designer prices.  If you’re willing to fork out an arm and a leg for steak and chips then fair enough, you won’t be disappointed when it comes to the food.  Quality, ambience and service all get top marks here and what more could you expect with a world renowned chef’s name on the door.  MPW is beginning to monopolize the Fairmont - they may eventually have to rename the hotel.  But the food is tops, no doubt.  Expats craving a rump with classic mash and Yorkshire pudding must try this place at least once.  Agreed, a meat and two veg supper could probably be cooked once you get home, but you won’t get perfection in your kitchen you like this.  And we haven’t even talked about the puddings….

For the best juicy steaks in the heart of the city then look no further (then your wallet that is).  This may be one of the most expensive eateries in Abu Dhabi, but when a man needs to satisfy his craving, nothing can stand in his way.  Abu Dhabi doesn’t ooze with steakhouses galore, but the few that they do have are of sheer quality and Rodeo Grill is one of them.  Don’t judge a book by its cover or in this case, the meal by its interior.  The restaurant doesn’t have that wow factor, which is a surprise for a Rotana, but these days we are so accustomed to the bling everywhere we blink, that when we come across a five star eatery that lacks in a little oomph, we get all spoilt.  This wont last for long we promise, till you sample the appetisers and then get your teeth into the mains. A super selection of salads, sauces, grilled vegetables and the best chips ever, accompany the main show stoppers: t -bones and bison fillets amongst much more.  Be sensible else you may not have room for desert.

Budget steakhouses that can deliver quality meats are a challenge in Abu Dhabi and the majority are all in the high end category.  18 oz is a step down on cost but delivers high end quality and more when it comes to their huge choice of tasty sides and appetizers.  Set in dark but brightly lit surroundings, you will get a cosy vibe from the minimalist interior design and comfy leather seating.  Tables are closely positioned, so if you are after a quiet romantic meal, you may not get it here.  What you will get is meat and plenty of it and for hard core steak fanatics, the 18oz cowboy steak will keep you busy.
