One to One Hotel +971 2 495 2000
Open 24 hrs, this is not the place you are likely to spot on the high street. The One to One hotel is a hidden cute concept hotel off Salaam Street, but if you are need of a late night dinner/munch post clubbing, post working but frowning at the thought of another greasy shawarma and fries, Resto serves good guilt free food. They have a buffet and 24 hr a la carte option. Go with the latter as you don’t know how long the buffet has been standing for! Apart from some of the Lebanese joints that sometimes stay open late, your only other choice is McDonalds!
Friday is the main day off and the Friday brunch has long been an institution in the UAE. People will head out late, about 12ish and spend a good 3 hours with family or friends at a favourite brunch hangout.

A bit pricey, but the standard per head price will give you all you can eat plus soft drinks. Sofra’s buffet list is mammoth with nearly every dish imaginable and thumbs up on the taste factor. Surroundings are huge, the indoor restaurant is spacious and airy and you will actually relish the long walk to the counters for your next round to burn off the excess! It’s worthwhile to book in advance for a good table as sometimes outdoor seating is reserved for hotel guests but you can always ask beforehand. The views are lovely.

This funky hotel has created a twist to the Friday brunch by introducing an outdoor bbq as their theme. Cold and warm mezzes accompany the various meats and kebabs and makes a nice change from the usual grub served at a brunch. Two prices are available, alcoholic and non – alcoholic. Seating overlooks the pool and the atmosphere is chilled and funky just like the rest of the hotel. Kids under 12 pay half price and under 6 are free.
The Garden $$
Crowne Plaza +971 2 414 9400
Renowned for being the liveliest brunches in the city, it certainly lives up to this claim and proud of it. If you seek a fun atmosphere combined with good food and value for money, The Garden will please. Add to this a bouncy castle and kids corner you will be there in a jiffy if it means you can enjoy a couple of hours without the kids tearing at your legs yelling to go home. Food is standard buffet style but there are also themed food stations where dishes can be made to order from your selection such as pasta sauces and vegs and stir fries. The cavalry is great too and staff on hand to cook meats to your desire. The only downer can be the noise and that the buffet fills over to other restaurant rooms. All in all it’s a positive experience. Kids under 12 pay half price and under 6 are free.

Rosebuds is popular with tourists and expats because of its central location. It’s a very international brunch which includes a Lebanese and Mexican corner as well as the usual seafood, European and Asian sections. Dishes are cooked to perfection and displayed immaculately. Pastries, cakes and puddings are presented elegantly so you are bound to be spoilt for choice – check out the creperie, our personal favourite! Service is top notch and price is value for money, once you’ve filled your belly, head next door to Abu Dhabi Mall to burn off the excess calories. Kids under 12 pay half price and under 6 are free.
