Where can you watch your sports in Abu Dhabi
Sports are big in Abu Dhabi and as the host of the last F1 Grand Prix of the year, watching it at home just doesn’t do it justice. Come popular sporting events, most bars will put up huge screens to lure in the fans. Our pick below are the dedicated sports bars which screen sporting action 7 days a week with yummy grub to go with it!

The capitals oldest and most popular sports bar is still the number one favourite to catch the action on sporting events. Brightly coloured décor and giant screens all over the place give ample viewing areas and come match time the atmosphere is joyous, not to mention loud! The menu is all about grease – burgers, fajitas, hot dogs and nachos, all generously sized so order with caution. On non sport days, hang around the pool table or have a game of darts. For those not into sports and loud banter, there are booths located away from the screens and the outdoor terrace seating overlooking the Le Meridien Village is relaxing.

A chilled out sports bar and restaurant with an earthy feel and great views of the Grand Mosque and Aldar Headquarters. The atmosphere only gets loud when major matches are happening at all other times, expect a relaxed vibe with sports played on the TV screens. If you dislike being near the screens, there are quieter areas of the bar with comfy lounge chairs to mull over the weekend papers. Accompanying food is far better quality, choice and price then your regular sports bar fare so you might make the trip to Yas just for the food than watching a game. Makes a great leisure stop after a round of golf or a stomach filler pre or post play. Perfect spot for F1 season as you’ll be on the doorstep of the roars.

This is a quirky bar open during the day and late into the night. Set in the revolutionary Aloft Hotel, WXYZ aims to break walls between their lobby and main bar area so that people have an easier mode to work freely and communicate easily with friends. By evening this airy space is buzzing and DJ’s step in for the weekend to create a fun frenzy. Ideal for trend setters who like a dose of vibrant colour and fun. For the cooler months, head upstairs to Aloft’s rooftop bar – Relax@12 for more of the same, but underneath the stars. Both venues serve great food such as juicy steaks and sushi and of course super cocktails, and host regular events. This is definitely worth the 20 minute drive from Abu Dhabi city on the doorstep of ADNEC.

For beach party atmosphere head to the Hiltonia beach club. This has a great chilled atmosphere perfect for the winter months. If your drinks night is more beanbag than boogie, you’ve come to the right place. Listen to your tunes, chat with friends and smoke shisha plus you don’t need to be dressed to the max while you sit by the pool. That said don’t come too casual or you won’t be allowed in.
