Numbers do not include 335,615 who were transient or illegal at the time. If included, this would give a total population at the end of 2005 at 4,104,695.
Other figures of note include:
- a 74.8 per cent rise on the previous census in 1995 (2,411,041)
- Local UAE Nationals only make up 20.1 per cent of the total population
- 38.1% of the UAE Nationals are less than 14 years old.
- Nationals less than 20 years old are 51.1%.
- For the non nationals 48.8% of them belong to the age group 25 to 40 years.
- Overall 52.9% of the total population are within 20 and 39 years old.
However, total figures since this census was pulished estimate that the total population hitting as much as 4.5M. So, if you were quoting number for the total UAE population, or official UAE Population figures, it would be better to go for this number.
